On Wednesday April 22nd at 7:00am, Research Data Services in the University Libraries will be hosting a University of New Mexico (UNM) viewing of the International Council for Science (ICSU) World Data System Webinar "Combining High Performance Computing with High Performance Data to Enable Data Intensive Science." This event will take place in the Centennial Science and Engineering Library, which will open early and host breakfast for attendees.
According to the ICSU website, “This webinar will present experiences and lessons learned at the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) of the Australian National University (ANU) to manage and make major research data collections discoverable and interoperable.”
Since all UNM researchers have free access to the high-performance computing resources provided by the Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC), and the University has a growing network of expertise and interest in data intensive science, this webinar will be of interest to UNM researchers who wish to learn more about how data intensive science can be enabled at the intersection of high performance computing and big data.
UNM community members who wish to attend should contact the Director of Research Data Services Karl Benedict at kbene@unm.edu for more information and to reserve seating. Additional information about the webinar can be found at the ICSU website.
