22. How to Request & Use Printer Codes at CARC

The Center for Advanced Research Computing utilizes print codes to track color copier use at the Center. A print code is needed to scan or print. A printer code can be requested by students and researchers in residence at the Center by submitting a help ticket (email help@carc.unm.edu) and providing the following information:

  • Desired print code, which cannot be the same as your CARC alarm code.
  • If you would like to have your print code programmed into your desktop or laptop driver, indicate whether you are using a Mac or PC.

Once your print code has been activated, you can begin using it immediately. The printer will prompt you to enter your code when you are scanning or copying. Scanning to email does not require a code.

To activate standard accounting on a Windows machine:

    • Press ok or apply to close the windows
